32 people went missing last night, December 18th, 1943, and have yet to be found. An apartment building that housed 50 people was set ablaze around 11:45 p.m. Fire crews were late arriving and the building ended up burning to the ground. 18 bodies were found in the aftermath, but the remaining people have not been found. German Nazi’s say that they had no involvement with the incident, but by standers say that they saw several military trucks leaving the area minutes before the blaze occurred. “Many of the people that lived in that building were Jewish…. And among them were many children, and that’s what worries me the most. They were good people.” a local woman said, as she stood in from of the door to her small house wiping tears as they streamed down her face. Many young men and women in the surrounding area believe that soldiers have done this in an effort to eliminate the Jewish religion. However, when questioned, Gem. Heiser said that this is just a rumor spread by an outraged man who wanted attention. And that the Jew’s are being relocated for safety from the war, and are being treated just fine.
