Journal - Day One

Day One

Today me and my family arrived at a camp for Jewish people.  They Nazi army has told us that we must be moved from our homes to keep us safe from the war, but I am not so sure.  The Nazis have not been very pleasant to my father. When we had to get off the train, we were thrown from the cars, and I have not seen my mother or my sister since we arrived.  My father and I were taken to what appears to be an all male area of the camp.  My father and I were separated, and I was taken into a small building and stripped of my clothes.  The guard handed me a pair of black and whit stripped pajamas, that had a terrible stench and were extremely itchy.  I was then carted off to a bunker where I was told I would sleep every night.  I found a wooden bunk that had hay as a bedding and I layed down.  All of the other boys around me seemed very ill, and deathly skinny. I am scarred.

The point behind this dairy entry, is a 15 or 16 year old Jewish boy who has been taken from his family and sent to berknaue.  A concentration camp that was responsible for thousands of Jewish deaths during word war two era.  The boys mother and the sister were separated from the boy immediately, and the mystery of what happened to them is put into play. Later the father gets taken away, and will soon reappear in the boys life. The boy is scarred because of the condition of all the other boys, and the stories that he is hearing while he lays in his bunk, that only consists of hay. He soon becomes delirious, and uses and small sharp object to mark the days he has been at the camp on a piece of wood on his bunk.

Baraka

When I first noticed it, it took my breath away.  I was walking along this flat, white, endlesssurface, and a very large, colorful star began to rise.  I had no idea what it was, Istood and wayched it as very slowly , it began to move up. It appeared so peaceful, like asmall baby fawn waking up in the morning.  It was slow at first, and apeared very delicate.  It was such a peacefulsight that I found myslef  sitting, now gazing at the breath taking sight before me.  It seemed  to grow however, because as it approached its peak it began to movie much faster.  It slowly became in a hurry, and no longer peaceful. It seemed to have grown a whole nother personality.  It suddenly changed color from a peaceful blue, and earthly green, to a firery red.  the peaceful scene turned horrific.  I tried to look turn my head, but I could'nt look away. Everything was happeneing so fast.  It all became a blur.  Then just as quickly as it had came, it disapeared below the white landscape behind me.
